The curricula is targeted for the training  hydrographers whose professional activity covers description of  the World Ocean water objects: searching for and exploration of  underwater objects, ocean floor researching,  hydrographical charting, equipping of the water ways with light houses and buoys for the safety of shipping  and operation of  constructions at sea.

The training and education of hydrographers is carried out in full compliance with the requirements “Standards of competence for Hydrographic Surveyors - 2011” and it is certified by International Hydrographic Organization (IHO).

The objects of hydrographic research are the following:

  • Sea and ocean floor;
  • Gravitational and geomagnetic fields of the Earth;
  • Navigational underwater dangers;
  • Marine engineering constructions;
  • Light houses, buoys, pole beacons and other kinds of navigational equipping of marine water ways;
  • Sea streams, high and low tides;
  • Devices and equipment for hydrographic, geodesics and oceanographic researches.

Hydrographers’ professional activity fields:

  • Hydrographic services;
  • Hydrographical charting;
  • Engineering hidrography;
  • Marine geological researches;
  • Scientific researches and educational activity.

Curriculum of the hydrographers education and training comprises three major blocks:

  • general education;
  • general marine training;
  • professional hidrography.
