Training of the trainers

At the end of July 2014 lecturers of the «Maritime Academy» and instructors of the Makarov Training Centre took part in the program «Training of the trainers» based on International Maritime Organization (IMO) Model course 6.09 («Instructors’ training») according to the International STCW Convention requirements. The event was held on the basis of the Makarov Training Centre of the Admiral Makarov University. The classes were conducted by a senior instructor of Warsash Maritime Academy (Great Britain): Captain Quentin Nicholas Cox. The training was conducted in English. Totally 9 lecturers and instructors of the University successfully finished the training. The classes were conducted in an interactive format. Along with the lectures, the trainees had tests, prepared presentations and carried out other practical tasks aimed at the improvement of lecturers’ and instructors' skills. In the end of the program all the trainees successfully wrote the final paper and were conferred the Warsash Maritime Academy certificate of taking the course. The gained knowledge and skills will help to raise the level of lectures and trainings held at the Admiral Makarov University.
