Medical examination

For all questions, relating to the medical examination, please contact to the AMSUMIS Medical Service. Tel.: (812) 321-36-84, (812) 321-36-89. The AMSUMIS Medical Service is located on the territory of the campus No 3, Vasilyevsky Island, line 22, house 9.

Obligatory seafarer medical examination on the University branches with sea-going practice for the Faculties of:

Navigation and Radio Communication

Specialization:

162107.65 — Technical operation of transport radio equipment

180403.65 — Navigation.

Ship’s Power Supply and Propulsion Systems

Specialization:

180405.65 — Operation of ship’s power plants;

180407.65 – Operation of ship’s electrical equipment and automation devices

It is desirable to obtain the seafarer medical commission certificate at AMSUMIS before the submission of documents for entrance to the University.

Physically qualified persons are issued a permit to study at the chosen faculty, or they get the recommendation to choose another field of study at the University for health reasons.

Documents required for medical examination:

- passport and its copy;

- Health insurance policy and its copy;

- vaccination certificate or notarized photocopy of  past prophylactic immunization: vaccine against tuberculosis, diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, measles, rubella, tick-borne encephalitis and/or hepatitis “B”  indicating the type of vaccine, vaccination date, vaccine lot number, injected dose;

- Medical form for complex medical check-up for the entrance to any institution for professional education  (form 086/y) with diagnostic results (statement of the dates of medical examination is required)

- Clinical blood analysis and blood sugar testing

- Simple urine test

- ECG with description

- Fluorography or other X-ray image of the chest with a medical diagnose by a qualified doctor, not older than one year.

- Military registration certificate (for draft age personnel) or military ID card (for reservists), if this implies certain constraints ; these should be specified.

- Cadets who are to live in the student dormitory have to submit to a HIV and a Wassermann reaction blood test or provide equivalent data of previous tests which should not be older than 1 month;

- Disabled persons and persons with chronic diseases must have an extract of their medical records

- Certificate* from the TB dispensary

- Certificate* from the psycho neurologic dispensary (with results of drug testing)

- Certificate* from the narcological (drug rehabilitation) dispensary

- For females – certificate* from the gynaecologist

* certificates as these, that basically state that a person is not known in the existing databases, serve as a proof of absence of certain health issues,  supporting forms to obtain the certificates from dispensaries at place of residence are available at the Medical Service of the University.

For Cadets entering the sea-going faculties :

- ECG with a description and Heart Ultrasound Examination

- X-ray of the accessory sinuses of nose and audiogram

- Certificate from the dentist on oral cavity sanitation

- Certificate or passport stamp regarding blood group

- 4 photos 3x4 cm

If possible, all diagnostic results should be made at the applicant’s place of residence under his or her health insurance policy. If this is not practicable, it’s possible to do additional medical tests and / or examination during the medical check-up at the University for a fee. Applicants under the age of 18 years must present a proof of parental consent concerning medical examination, that can be written according to the form available on our website.

The Medical Examination section works all year round. People who wish to be preliminary medically examined can attend an examination after prior agreement before submitting any documents.
